A delicious and satisfying meal that combines the savory flavors of ground beef with tender zucchini, all enveloped in a creamy cheese sauce.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 pound ground beef, preferably lean
4 medium zucchinis, sliced into thin rounds
1 small onion, diced finely
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Then, stir in the sliced zucchini, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, milk, Worcestershire sauce, and half of the cheddar cheese. Stir until smooth.
Add the cooked meat and zucchini mixture to the cheese sauce. Mix well until everything is evenly coated.
Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a small bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, remaining cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and olive oil. Sprinkle over the casserole.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
