Ingredients
Scale:
1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted for a lighter texture
1 tablespoon sugar, to enhance the sweetness of the batter
1 teaspoon baking powder, which helps create a light and fluffy coating
1/2 teaspoon salt, to balance the sweetness
1 cup milk, preferably whole milk for richness
1 large egg, at room temperature for better integration
1 teaspoon vanilla extract, providing a lovely aromatic quality
Vegetable oil for frying (enough to fill your pot or deep fryer to a depth of at least 2 inches)
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Chocolate sauce or caramel sauce for drizzling (optional)
Chopped nuts or sprinkles for an added crunch and color (optional)
Instructions
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined. Add the milk, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until the batter is smooth and slightly thick.
Using tongs, dip each Oreo into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow any excess batter to drip off before frying.
Carefully place the battered Oreos one at a time into the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes, or until they are golden brown, flipping them halfway through.
Once golden brown, use a slotted spoon to remove the Oreos from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
Dust the deep fried Oreos with powdered sugar and drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce before serving.
