Packed with protein and flavor, this dish brings together the rich taste of eggs with savory ham and cheese, making it a beloved choice for many.
Ingredients
Scale:
- 4 large eggs (preferably organic or free-range)
- 2 tablespoons whole milk or 2% (or non-dairy milk like almond or soy)
- 1/2 cup diced cooked ham (preferably high-quality)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your choice)
- 1 tablespoon butter (or olive oil/non-stick spray)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Optional toppings: Fresh herbs, diced bell peppers, sliced tomatoes, or hot sauce
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them together with milk, salt, and pepper until fully combined and slightly frothy.
- Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Allow it to melt and cover the bottom of the skillet.
- Pour the egg mixture into the skillet. Let it cook undisturbed for about 1-2 minutes, or until the edges start to set.
- Once the eggs are mostly set but still slightly runny, sprinkle the diced ham and shredded cheese over one half of the omelet.
- Carefully fold the other half of the omelet over the filling using the spatula. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Gently slide the omelet onto a plate and garnish with fresh herbs or additional toppings if desired.
