A delightful recipe featuring turkey cutlets with a savory Dijon mustard sauce, inspired by Mediterranean flavors for a healthy and flavorful meal.
Ingredients
Scale:
4 turkey cutlets (about 1 pound)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/4 cup heavy cream or Greek yogurt for a lighter option
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon honey
1 garlic clove, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Pat the turkey cutlets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme, pressing the herbs into the meat for maximum flavor.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the cutlets. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Stir in the Dijon mustard, heavy cream, lemon juice, and honey. Whisk until smooth and creamy, adjusting the seasoning with salt and pepper.
Return the turkey cutlets to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to meld the flavors. Serve immediately, garnished with additional fresh herbs if desired.
